 Enjoy an old fashioned 1920's Steam
Train Ride in period Pullman Train Cars, pulled along side of
the Connecticut River by early 1900 Steam Locomotive. The Dining
Car offers food and drink to be enjoyed during the ride. In Deep
River the train will allow you to Disembark (If combination ticket
was purchased) and board the River Boat to cruise up the Connecticut
River to the East Haddam Swing Bridge. An abundance of wild birds
can be seen along the banks, and in the skies around the river.
American Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles and Brown Eagles are frequently
spotted along the shores, especially in the Winter months when
the Eagles migrate to the Connecticut River to hunt fresh fish.
A combination
ticket is a 2.5 hour ride

Goodspeed Opera House

The Goodspeed Opera House is famous for
its nationally acclaimed Theatre productions of musicals and
plays. Two performances created and owned by the Goodspeed are,
"Annie" and "Man of LaMancha". The Opera
house features a beautiful grand curved stairway, that visitors
climb to gain access to the theater seating on the 3rd and 4th
floors. The Green Room is a Victorian marvel, and the intermissions
allow members of the Opera House foundation to enjoy an evening
sunset on the rear veranda, overlooking the river.
Three Shows are produced here annually.
The Goodspeed has a sister Theatre across the river in Chester,
Connecticut, about 6 miles away.

An interactive science, nature experience
with artifact shopping and souveniers. A 31-foot long Tyrannosaurus
rex named "Monty" will greet you in the parking lot,
and let your adventure begin. They offer a Fossil Gallery, Activity
Center, Pan for gold, dig for gems and wonderful crystals. All
of the treasures you find are yours to keep. There is a 1.5 mile
long trail that you can walk that offers a display of a variety
of dinosaurs along your walk. There is also a picnic area.

Directions:
I-95, exit 82, follow Route 85 north past Crystal Mall, under
I-395, and your will find it on your left in about 2 miles from
passing under I-395.
